“Pathways to Professorship: Mobility, Third party funding, Networking”

Is there a straight path to professorship? Not surprisingly, there isn’t a simple answer to this question. In contrast, many different factors have an impact on how a career in academia develops – some of them can be actively influenced, some of them cannot.

We will talk about hard facts and soft skills on the way to professorship, as for example: What are the benefits of a research stay abroad and how does this experience contribute to a career? How important is it to acquire (the right) third party funding? What is successful networking? And are there important factors for career planning which are often overlooked?

Representatives of the three RMU-Universities welcome you to a discussion about the pathways to professorship. You are cordially invited to join our online opening and to take the opportunity to ask your questions!
